1. What does SELF CHECK-IN and VIRTUAL RECEPTION mean?

SELF CHECK-IN and VIRTUAL RECEPTION are innovative features offered by Oddsson Hotel. As a self check-in hotel, we provide guests with the flexibility to check in at their convenience using an access code provided via email. 

 

Our virtual reception operates around the clock, ensuring assistance is available whenever needed. You can reach us by phone at +354 620 6660 or by email at info@oddsson.is. 

 

Prior to your arrival, we'll send you an email containing essential details such as your room number and access code. To ensure a smooth check-in process, please ensure that we have your correct email address on file. If you've booked through a travel agency and haven't provided your email, please contact us at info@oddsson.is.

 

2. What's in my room?
Each of our rooms at Oddsson Hotel comes with a range of amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. These include private bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, and convenient USB charging ports integrated into our headboards. 

 

Additionally, certain rooms feature bunk beds, sofa beds, and basic kitchenettes, making them perfect for families traveling with children or smaller groups. We provide complimentary soap and shampoo for your convenience, and you'll find a hairdryer in every room for your use.

 

3. Parking

Parking at Oddsson Hotel is provided on a first come, first served basis, with 16 spaces allocated for guests. Please note that due to limited availability, these spots may fill up quickly. However, guests have the option to utilize overnight street parking in the surrounding neighbourhood. We advise against parking in private lots during the company's opening hours.

 

For added convenience, there is a private paid parking lot located just 2 blocks away at Skeifan 13, approximately 300 meters or 1,000 feet from the hotel. Please be aware that this parking facility is not affiliated with the hotel. The hourly rate for parking at Skeifan 13 is 190 ISK.

 

4. Local city bus

Conveniently located near Oddsson Hotel are multiple bus stops servicing local city buses. If you're looking to explore Reykjavik via public transportation, you'll find these stops within walking distance from the hotel.

5. Do you recommend any tours or tour operators?

6. Tour pick up location

If you select Oddsson Hotel as your tour pick-up location, the tour buses will pick you up directly in front of the hotel. Please note that pick-up times typically occur 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the tour.

7. ​Is breakfast included? 

Yes, enjoy a complimentary breakfast buffet served daily from 7:00 am to 10:00 am on the ground floor of Oddsson Hotel. If you have any special dietary requests, please feel free to contact our staff during breakfast hours, and we'll do our best to accommodate your needs.

8. Restaurant

9. Luggage storage

Guests at Oddsson Hotel can take advantage of our complimentary luggage storage service. You may store your luggage in our designated LUGGAGE ROOM from 10:00 am on the day of check-in until 8:00 pm on the day of check-out. Please note that the use of the Luggage Room is at your own risk.

 

10. Room access

Two days before your scheduled arrival, you will receive an email with your room number and access code. This code provides entry through both the front door and the parking garage. Room access begins at 3:00 pm, but if you need to drop off your luggage earlier, you can access both the front door and the luggage room starting at 10:00 am.

11. Early / Late arrival

Check-in time at Oddsson Hotel is from 3:00 pm onwards. If you arrive early, you can store your luggage in our luggage room from 10:00 am on the day of check-in until 8:00 pm on the day of check-out at no additional cost. Please note that the use of the luggage room is at your own risk. Additionally, you are welcome to relax in the reception area until your room is ready for occupancy.

 

Arriving late poses no issue at Oddsson Hotel. You can access your room anytime after 3:00 pm using your room code.

12. Can I cancel or modify my reservation?

Whether you can cancel or modify your reservation depends on the conditions under which the reservation was made.

 

• Prepaid non-refundable reservations cannot be modified or canceled. In the event of a no-show, no refund will be issued.

 

• Standard reservations made through third-party booking sources should be modified or canceled via the same channel they were reserved through.

 

• For standard reservations made directly through the Oddsson website, please contact info@oddsson.is for any modification or cancellation requests.

 

13. Electrical plugs

In Iceland, electrical plugs conform to the European standard and operate at 230 volts. Should you require an adapter for your electrical devices, there's a nearby electrical appliances store called Elko where you can purchase one.

14. What is the check-in and check-out time?
Check in time is from 3 pm. Check out time is until 11 am.
 

 

15. Do you offer complimentary WiFi?

Yes, we provide complimentary WiFi to all our guests in both the rooms and all public areas of the building.

16. Kettles

Kettles are available for our guests and can be found in the cabinets on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor near one of the elevators.

17. Small fridge

Small fridges are provided in rooms with kitchenettes. Guests without a small fridge and wish to cool items are welcome to use the coolers available on every floor. Please note that the use of coolers is at the guest's own risk.

18. Laundry

While we do not offer laundry service onsite, the nearest laundry facility to Oddsson Hotel is Efnalaugin Björg at Háaleitisbraut 58-60, located just an 8-minute walk away. They operate Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and also on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

19. Hotel Security phone

Our virtual reception, available 24/7, can be reached at +354 620 6660. For added convenience, complimentary phones for local calls are provided by the bar and on every floor near one of the elevators.

20. Emergency information

In case of emergency, always call the National Emergency number 112. This is the single emergency number in Iceland, representing all response parties. We kindly advise you to familiarize yourself with our fire safety information provided in your room and to locate the nearest exit. Your safety is our top priority.
